Solving WiFi problems

You have an important Zoom meeting but the connection crashes or you spend minutes downloading and sending e-mails while you have a deadline. Do you suffer from a weak WiFi signal or other WiFi internet problems? We give you a number of tips to start solving WiFi problems.

  1. Check your settings and reset your router.
  2. Move your router to a place where there are no sources of interference. Think of a refrigerator, microwave or thick walls for a source of interference.
  3. Increase your Wi-Fi speed on a different channel. Choose a free channel and preferably not the channel your neighbors are on.
  4. Check the WiFi standard of your equipment. Older devices, for example, have a lower Wi-Fi speed.
  5. Always switch your router to WPA2.
  6. Adjust your channel bandwidth. Routers are often set to 20 Mhz. You can adjust this by choosing 20/40 Mhz in your router configuration.
